About Us
Unique Access to Justice & Equality Set
Lincoln’s is an in-demand access to justice and equality in the workplace boutique set based next to the Royal Courts of Justice in the heart of legal London. It was established by barrister Julian Smith, the better to serve clients from Brixton Legal Centre he had founded earlier with the support of his friends Andrew Leonard and Susan Young from Brixton Unitarians who are also now part of the team at Lincoln’s.
Discrimination Focus & Expertise
Given the strong connection with Brixton Legal Centre, the Lincoln’s team inevitably has considerable expertise in this area.
Other Employment Law Expertise
In addition to undertaking discrimination cases at all employment levels, the Lincoln’s team also acts more generally for senior employees which supports this work in cases involving investigations, disciplinary proceedings, redundancy, contractual claims, and wrongful and unfair dismissal.
Child Arrangements Cases
The Lincoln’s team retains a keen personal interest and good reputation in child arrangement cases in family law which they will always try to undertake whenever asked and the principal’s employment practice will allow.
Respondent / Employer Representation
For similar reasons, the Lincoln’s team is glad to work on instructions from employers under the cab rank rule which also provides added value to both claimant and respondent clients in better understanding the strengths and weaknesses of their cases.
Solicitor Instructions / Direct Address
The Lincoln’s team particularly enjoys the teamwork, synergy and camaraderie of working with instructing solicitors in the time-honoured traditional fashion that sees the English legal profession working at its world class best. However, Lincoln’s is authorised by the Bar Standards Board to accept direct access briefs which represent most of its cases.
